The Democratic Alliance has allegedly sent out a strong message to the community of Phoenix, while putting themselves forward as strong candidates for the upcoming Local Government Election in the town.
Phoenix made headlines in July when racial tensions in the town are alleged to have led to the murder of 36 people during July’s civil unrest.
A few weeks ago, families of suspects currently in jail for various crimes allegedly committed during the unrest that swept Durban in July have finally broken their silence as their loved ones continue to remain behind bars.
Visvin Reddy, the leader of African Democratic Change (ADeC) led a motorcade from Gandhi-Luthuli Peace Park to the Phoenix Police Station, on Saturday, 25th of September, to hand over a Memorandum of Demands.

The latest DA posters, which allegedly reads “The ANC called you racists” and “The DA calls you heroes”, went up on Monday in Phoenix, northwest of Durban, where racial tensions have been inflamed since the week of death and destruction in July.

The DA has allegedly said that a total of 100 sets of the posters are, also to be put up in other parts of the city.
