Somizi and Mohale’s relationship has turned sour after serious abuse allegations made headlines.
Somizi Mhlongo has referred the allegations of abuse levelled against him by his estranged spouse Mohale Motaung to his legal team, due to the severity of the accusations.
After the shocking revelations were detailed in a Sunday World article over the weekend, the celebrity media personality will not be making any comments until he seeks legal counsel.
The published article raised eyebrows and brought up the debate over domestic abuse in same-sex relationships which is often overlooked. Mohale details that the Idols SA judge had a violent and jealous streak throughout their relationship. Describing one incident where his husband allegedly broke his ribs and two front teeth, Mohale was said to be scared of Somizi, according to the publication.
Rumours of trouble in paradise between the couple have been doing the rounds, with Somizi denying that the pair are separating. He took to Twitter to clear the air after photoshopped tweets between the couple were shared on social media.
Mohale’s apparent allegations include being terrified on his wedding day when the couple exchanged vows in the extravagantly televised wedding, claiming Somizi threatened him with a knife just 3-weeks into their relationship.
Social media users were divided over the matter with most labelling Mohale as a “gold-digger” who stands to gain a fortune should the couple divorce, as the couple are apparently married in community of property. However, according to the report Mohale wants nothing except what he came into the marriage with, his clothes and the car he claims his husband damaged to be replaced.
