Gauteng is the province with the most recorded COVID-19 cases.
In a bid to save lives and speed up the vaccination roll-out in the province, the Gauteng Provincial Government has announced a mobile vaccination drive.
The province will offer those who are eligible for vaccines, transport to vaccination sites.
“The drive is aimed at assisting all eligible persons for vaccination to get vaccinated near their places of residence or work. All eligible persons are urged to make use of the opportunities created to get vaccinated,” reads a statement from the GPG.

The drive starts on Monday, 5 July, in Ekurhuleni, Tshwane, and Johannesburg metros and will target grant pay-points.
It has urged all people who are eligible for vaccines to register.
To register, you will need the following:
– Full name and surname
– ID/ Passport number
– Contact numbers
– Medical aid number, if on medical aid.

Below, sacoronavirus.co.za outlines ways to register:
1. Register on the Electronic Vaccination System (EVDS) at https://vaccine.enroll.
2. The welcome screen will tell you what to do next.
3. Follow the instructions, put in all the details the system asks you for.
4. When you are done, the system will send an SMS to the number you provided
5. The SMS will tell you that you are registered.
6. When it is your turn to be vaccinated, the system will send you another SMS with a date and the venue for your vaccination
You can also register using USSD, simply dial *1234*832*IDnumber# (if you do not have an ID number, just dial *1234*832# )
You can also register using WhatsApp, send the word REGISTER to 0600 012 3456.
The provincial government also announced that “all public vaccination sites in Gauteng accept walk-ins of all eligible groups.”
