Somizi ‘SomGaga’ Mhlongo is known for living a flamboyant lifestyle.
SMEG appliances, private plane rides, five-star trips to Europe – the ‘Idols SA’ judge will spare no expense when it comes to living that “soft life”.
Somizi also spends a lot of his hard-earned cash on his designer wardrobe.
The media personality famously told his wedding guests to wear red bottom shoes, aka Christian Louboutin.
The French-Egyptian fashion designer’s shoes retail for anything from R7,000 to R80,000.
Looking good does not come cheap in Somizi-ville.
Take a peek inside his luxury closet.

‘King of Louis Vuitton’
Introducing the ‘King of Louis Vuitton’. Somizi has made no secret of the fact that he loves Louis Vuitton. He has LV shoes, LV luggage, LV caps, and LV towels. SomGaga even has a Louis Vuitton suitcase to carry his champopo around. Somizi has Louis Vuitton in EVERYTHING.
That time Somizi spent R25k on a pair of shoes
Only Somizi can drop R25,000 on a pair of shoes and not bat an eyelid. Meanwhile, we had a mini heart attack spending R1,500 on Steve Madden shoes.
During a 2017 episode of ‘Living the Dream with Somizi’, the 48-year-old casually dropped R25,000 on a pair of shoes. Somizi’s shoe closet includes designers like Christian Louboutin, Gucci, and, of course, Louis Vuitton.
That Rich Mnisi tax bracket
Local designer, Rich Mnisi, recently sold a xibelani skirt for R59,999! You need to be rich to own one of Rich Mnisi’s fabulous designs. Somizi, naturally, had to get his hands on the skirt! But that’s not the only item he bought from the luxury African brand. Somizi has a closet full of Rich Mnisi clothes!
Couture, darling!
When Somizi is not forking out thousands on designer clothes, he is forking out thousands getting his hands on custom designer clothes.
Somizi is also a fan of couture pieces from local designers like Zamaswazi. The designer specialises in custom-made clothes only and you need an appointment to get your hands on one of the brand’s high fashion pieces.
Big and bold
Go big or go home appears to be Somizi’s motto when purchasing new looks. In fact, the bigger the better.
