The former reigning queen of South Africa has finally tied the knot with her prince charming, Luke Ten Oever, in the dreamiest wedding ceremony held in the Cape Winelands.

Le Roux is now Mrs Ten Oever, and she is clearly head over heels in love with her husband.

The newlyweds

Le Roux shared a heartwarming message to her husband, describing their love as one of the most beautiful things she has ever experienced.

She expressed her love for him, saying she could not imagine a life in which he was not by her side.

“I do not love you as if you were salt-rose, or topaz, or the arrow of carnations the fire shoots off. I love you as certain mysterious things are to be loved, in secret, between the shadow and the soul.

I love you as the plant that never blooms but carries in itself the light of hidden flowers; thanks to your love a certain solid fragrance, risen from the earth, lives solidly within my bones.

I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way than this: where I do not exist, nor you, so close that your hand on my chest is my hand, so close that your eyes close as I fall asleep.”

The bride and groom got engaged in 2025, in a candid moment that Mia described as saying yes to her forever.

Now married, the couple begins a new chapter together as they look forward to building the rest of their lives side by side.

A fairytale wedding

The wedding looked dreamy, with a ceremony that could easily have been taken straight out of a Disney fairytale.

Mia looked every bit the princess, while Luke looked like her Prince Charming.

The celebration was beautiful yet intimate, with only 60 guests in attendance. Among those who witnessed the couple exchange their vows was former Miss South Africa Joa-Ann Strauss.

South Africa’s first deaf Miss SA beauty queen

Mia made history in 2024 when she became South Africa’s first deaf Miss South Africa, following her heartfelt advocacy for inclusion and representation.

She has a cochlear implant in her right ear and wears a hearing aid that transmits sound to the device.

During the question-and-answer session at the 2024 pageant, Le Roux highlighted how many South Africans are left behind and expressed her desire to use her platform to teach those who are included how to be more inclusive of those who are excluded.

When she won the Miss South Africa title in 2024, she admitted that she had not always believed someone like her could become a beauty queen.

Since then, she has inspired people with disabilities and those with visual impairments, while reminding South Africans of what inclusion and representation can look like.

What does the future hold?

Now that Mia is married to the love of her life, the couple is looking forward to building a future together.

Le Roux has shared that they are working towards building a strong foundation for their family, adding that they would love to have children one day.

She has always emphasised on the importance of children growing up in a warm home filled with love and stability.
