The South African football community is mourning the tragic death of Mamelodi Sundowns and Bafana Bafana star Jayden Adams.
News of his passing began circulating on Saturday afternoon, 11 July 2026. Details surrounding Adams’ reported death remain unclear at this stage.
The 25-year-old midfielder recently represented South Africa at the FIFA World Cup, showcasing his talent on football’s biggest stage.
Adams featured in all three of Bafana Bafana’s group-stage matches at the tournament but was an unused substitute in the knockout clash against Canada.
He joined Mamelodi Sundowns in January last year after completing a move from Stellenbosch Football Club, where he had established himself as one of the Premier Soccer League’s standout midfielders.
Mamelodi Sundowns has yet to comment on his passing, while the cause of his death remains unclear.
