Tshwane residents have been urged to prepare for water supply disruptions in several suburbs this weekend.
Some parts of the capital city will have little to no water for 12 hours on Saturday, 11 July 2026.
The interruption is due to the temporary shutdown of the Themba Water Treatment Plant to allow the City to carry out essential maintenance on its transformers.
Operations at the plant will be suspended during this period as the facility relies on electricity to pump water.
The following areas are expected to be affected from 06:00 to 18:00:
- Sekampaneng
- Renstown
- Hammanskraal West
- Unit 5
- Unit 7
- Unit D
- Kanana
- Leboneng
- Rockville
- Chris Hani
Residents are encouraged to use water sparingly and make the necessary preparations ahead of the planned maintenance.
