The Feel Good audience opened up about the emotional “queues” they are currently standing in, from healing and caregiving to rebuilding their lives after divorce.

In life, everyone is waiting for something.
Some people are in the queue for healing, while others are waiting for love, financial stability, parenthood, success, or simply a breakthrough. And unlike physical queues, life’s queues can feel lonely because you can’t always see the people standing beside you.
On Feel Good, host Andy Maqondwana reflected on the comfort that comes with standing in an actual line.
“There’s something comforting about being in a physical queue because you can see that you’re not alone and that the line is moving.
“But when it comes to the queues that life hands us, it’s different. You can’t always see that other people are also waiting for their turn, and that’s the frustrating part because sometimes life feels unfair,” she said.
Andy then asked listeners a relatable question: What queue are you currently in?
“Think about it. Are you in the queue of taking care of your elderly parents? How long have you been in that queue for, and how are you doing as a person? Are you in the queue of sorting out lobola preparations? Do you understand where I’m going with this?”
“If the queue represents your current season and the thing dominating your attention, energy, and resources, then what queue are you in right now?” she asked.
One caller shared that she is currently standing in three different queues at the same time.
“The first queue is getting my health right because your 30s hit different. I didn’t get a warning,” she said.
“The second queue is waiting for my husband. Why is this man taking his sweet time locating me and finding me? Where is he? The third one is my soft girl era, but this might be the longest queue of the three. Like, when am I entering my soft girl era?”
Another caller revealed that he is currently in the queue of divorce and rebuilding his life.
“The queue I’m in right now is divorce, and having to start again from scratch,” he explained.
” It’s really a self-discovery queue because you start discovering things about yourself that were always there, but you chose to ignore them. I’m not saying it’s the smoothest journey because there are a lot of emotions in between. It’s bittersweet, but we’re taking it one step at a time,” he said.
A different listener shared that she is in the queue of caring for her mother while juggling work and raising children alone.
“My mom is sick, and I’m doing this all alone. I work, I have kids, and I’m currently an only child because my brother passed away,” she said.
“I have to carry the load alone. Sometimes I go into my little corner and cry so that my kids don’t see my tears. Then I dust myself off and tell myself, ‘You’ve got this, girl.’ But Andy, it’s not easy. Sometimes I just need a hug. Sometimes I ask myself, ‘When can I even go to a spa and get a massage?’ It’s a lot. It’s definitely not a nice queue.”
