South African actor Calvin Ratladi posted a throwback Tuesday on his Instagram profile, reminding his fans of his remarkable and amazing acting on South Africa’s Shaka iLembe.
Ratladi was portraying Goloza, the wise seer for the Ndwandwe Kingdom.
People on social media, more especially on TikTok, have been praising him for his acting and some of the words that he used as Goloza, weeks after the second season of Shaka iLembe ended.
He became South Africa’s favorite after an episode where he lied about what the ancestors showed him regarding the war that his brother’s kingdom was going to embark on.
“Angiboni lutho, kumnyama,” which is now a saying that is widely used on TikTok to describe different situations.

Some of his famous sayings are:
“uNyengelezi usiphekelile intibane, ulozolo.” This one is widely used on TikTok and Instagram as a background sound to cooking videos. It is mostly used by food content creators.

On Tuesday he posted a picture of himself and TV brother, Wiseman Mncube, who was portraying the Ndwandwe King, uZwide.
He captioned the post: “I woke up feeling like ‘Kungani ngidlikidlwa kanje, Zwide, ngizilile.’”
His post has left most of his fans reminiscing about his fun yet amazing role on Shaka iLembe.
The third and final season of Shaka iLembe will come back to our screens in 2026.
