A United Nations Commission of Inquiry has formally accused Israel of committing genocide in its war on Gaza, directly implicating Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, President Isaac Herzog, and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.
The report, released by the UN’s Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, stated that the three Israeli leaders’ actions and rhetoric demonstrated “genocidal intent.”
Commission Chairwoman Navi Pillay said the evidence points to the “State of Israel” being responsible for genocide.
The report marks the strongest international condemnation of Israel’s military actions since the start of the conflict.
Israel has rejected the findings, dismissing them as “fake” and “Hamas propaganda.”
