Anonymous feels that her husband has neglected their marriage

Anonymous shares that her husband, a pastor, is well respected in his church and has counselled many couples.
However, their own marriage is facing difficulties, and she suggested they seek guidance from the church elders. Her husband did not take this well.
He explained that many people look up to him, and he feels he cannot be seen as someone who does not have his household in order.
“My husband is a pastor. Part of his calling is to counsel church members, including those in marriage. Yet in our own marriage, we are bleeding, and he turns a blind eye. I’ve told him repeatedly that I am unhappy and that I need him to show up for me the way he shows up for the couples in our church. But he brushes me off every time.
“A while back, I confided in a church sister whose husband is also a pastor. I wanted to understand how she navigates her marriage, given the demands of ministry. She suggested that my husband and I sit with them as a couple because they’ve also walked this road and managed to find healing.
“When I brought this up to my husband, he got angry. He said I had no right to discuss our issues with church members and accused me of embarrassing him. But in all honesty, I believe even counsellors need counsel.
“How can I make my husband see the reason? I don’t believe in divorce, but I am bleeding watching him save everyone else’s marriage while ours falls apart What could be my blind spot here?”
