Reflecting on the month of August, world-renowned South African DJ, Black Coffee, real name Nkosinathi Maphumulo, shared that he celebrated his son Esona’s birthday across several countries.
He revealed that they flew to San Francisco for 24 hours for two shows, partied in Italy with Mc’Lovin, briefly saw Esona in Düsseldorf, then travelled in and out of New York to celebrate at Central Park.
They also spent time with family and close friends in Mykonos, Ibiza, and other destinations in between.
Black Coffee added that he is grateful for the life he has been blessed with.
Esona, professionally known by his stage name SONA, is a rising star in electronic music, following in his father’s footsteps as a DJ and producer.
He launched his career in 2021 and has already reached significant milestones, including:
- Co-producing and co-writing Texts Go Green on Drake’s 2022 album Honestly, Nevermind
- Performing at major festivals and venues worldwide, including co-headlining with his father in Ibiza and performing at Tomorrowland in Belgium
