Social media influencer Honour “Cyan Boujee” Zuma is facing backlash after being accused of promoting an alleged human trafficking scheme on Instagram.
In a now-deleted post, Cyan Boujee encouraged young African women to sign up for a Russian program that promised wide career opportunities, free flights, free housing, promotions, and salary increases every six months.

The program, however, has raised serious red flags, with critics warning that it could be a front for human trafficking.
Many social media users slammed Cyan Boujee, accusing her of being a horrible human being who would do anything for a pay cheque, even at the expense of young women’s lives.
Others warned that anyone taking job advice from the influencer was putting their life at risk.
Reports suggest that Russian companies have been actively recruiting young African women to fill labour shortages.
However, concerns are mounting that these programs are exploitative.
One of the main recruiters, the Alabuga factory in Russia’s Republic of Tatarstan, is a key supplier of drones for the Russian military producing up to 200 Iranian-style Shahed drones a month for use in the war against Ukraine.
Media reports revealed that many of the women who accept these offers are ultimately tasked with assembling drones later used in strikes on Ukraine.
South Africa’s government is reportedly investigating Russian companies’ actions and what their intentions are.
The Department of International Relations and Cooperation (DIRCO) spokesperson Clayson Monyela cautioned young women not to fall for “too-good-to-be-true” foreign job opportunities, especially those being promoted by influencers on social media.
Please warn young people (girls in particular) not to fall for unverified foreign job offers….Some are being promoted by influencers on Tik Tok, Instagram & other SM platforms. Human trafficking syndicates are luring people into all sorts of illegal activities under slave-life…
