Celebs gathered in style for the premiere event of the Black Brain Pictures-produced BET drama Black Gold.

South African actor and director Mandla N is anticipating the launch of his new show, Black Gold, a daily drama on BET.
The drama is produced by his multi-award-winning production company, Black Brain Pictures.
Mandla took to Instagram to share pictures from the launch event on Wednesday evening, writing, “About last night, hope u ready #Betblackgold.”
The event was attended by the show’s stars, including Dawn Thandeka King, Sello Maake Ka Ncube, and Nomalanga Shozi.

Early this week, Mandla posted the trailer for the upcoming show and wrote:

What is Black Gold about?
Set in KwaZulu-Natal Natal Black Gold tells the story of Amandla Zungu (played by Nomalanga Shozi), who is cast out of her home after being falsely accused of murdering her father.
Her stepmother Florence (played by Dawn Thandeka King) is behind the betrayal while Tom Motsepe (played by Sello Maake KaNcube) is Florence’s secret lover and co-conspirator.
According to a press release from BET, Amandla is forced into the dangerous world of illegal mining and must rise through the ranks to reclaim her legacy and confront the woman who stole everything from her.
The star-studded cast also includes the likes of Zamani Mbatha, Nomsa Buthelezi, Warren Masemola, Ernst Ndlovu, Ashleigh Herman, Zinhle Sithole, Siphesihle Vazi, and Thulani Mtsweni.
Black Gold premieres on Monday, 18 August on BET (channel 129 on DStv).
