Trailblazing model and media personality Refilwe Modiselle has launched her debut children’s book, Zizi’s World: Through Her Vanilla Eyes.
Zizi’s World tells the story of a young girl with albinism named Zizi, exploring themes of courage, kindness, and embracing one’s differences. The book is intended to be more than just a story; it’s a conversation starter on inclusion and representation.
The book, which she recently discussed with radio host Phemelo, aims to foster conversations about diversity, empathy, and self-love.

As Africa’s first successful model with albinism, Modiselle has long been a powerful advocate for diversity and changing the narrative around the genetic condition.
Born in Soweto, she began her modelling career at the age of 13 and went on to become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry as a model, actress, and TV and radio personality.
Her work has included appearing on the runway for David Tlale and being nominated for Oprah Magazine’s “Power List.” She is a passionate activist and has collaborated with organisations like the UN and the Human Rights Commission to raise awareness and combat misconceptions about albinism.
