Eight months after the mysterious disappearance of Pretoria businessman Jerry Boshoga, his family remains without answers, not knowing whether he is still alive.
Boshoga was last seen in November 2024 after attending a business meeting at a food franchise store in Pretoria. The last relative to see him was his younger brother, who had driven him that day.
Since then, the family has endured a nightmare. They have received several disturbing videos from his kidnappers, showing a visibly terrified Boshoga pleading for help.
According to media reports, the kidnappers are demanding a ransom of R10 million for his release.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed that the investigation remains “sensitive” at this stage. Despite rumors on social media claiming Boshoga had been found deceased, SAPS has dismissed these reports as false.
National police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe urged the public to refrain from spreading unverified information.
“This misinformation has caused unnecessary trauma, panic, and anxiety for the family, including his mother, wife, and children,” she said.
SAPS emphasised that they remain in close contact with Boshoga’s family and that they will be the first to be notified of any developments.
The businessman’s kidnapping has been linked to controversial tender entrepreneur Vusi “Cat” Matlala, who is currently behind bars at the Kgosi Mampuru Prison on multiple charges, including the murder of his ex-girlfriend, Tebogo Thobejane.
For now, Boshoga’s whereabouts remain unknown.
