South African rap artist Shebeshxt and collaborator Naqua have signed a global distribution deal with Virgin Music Group South Africa, through their independent label TopLessFam.
The partnership is a significant milestone for both artists, with Virgin Music SA highlighting their commitment to supporting independent talent.
Virgin Music SA stated that the deal aligns with their mission to empower artists “on their own terms,” reflecting a growing trend in the industry where artistic authenticity and control are highly valued.
Shebeshxt, known for his provocative style and raw storytelling, has been a controversial figure in the South African music scene. The rapper has faced numerous personal struggles, including a tragic car accident that resulted in the death of his daughter.
He often channels these experiences into his music, creating a powerful and emotional voice within SA hip hop.
The new partnership will see Shebeshxt and Naqua release their highly anticipated single, “Sinhle,” featuring Zee Nxumalo and SliddoMan.
