A towering presence in the wrestling ring and pop culture throughout the 1980s and ‘90s, Hogan was more than just a legend; he was a global phenomenon who helped bring professional wrestling into the mainstream.
In a moving tribute, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair expressed deep sorrow over the loss of his longtime friend, sharing that Hogan was one of the first people to visit him in the hospital when he had only a 2% chance of survival.
WWE confirmed the heartbreaking news in an official statement on social media:
WWE is saddened to learn that legendary WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away. One of pop culture’s most recognisable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s. WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans.

The Undertaker shared a picture of the two in their prime, writing: “Thank you for paving the way, Hulk. You changed the game forever.”
