SABC1’s Generations: The Legacy is set to introduce four new characters as the long-running soapie continues its 34th season.
The series, produced by Morula Pictures, welcomes four seasoned actors.
Veteran actress Tinah Mnumzana takes on the role of Ausi Nokwazi Lukhozi, a talkative, impulsive character loyal to the streets and to anyone who supports her financially.
Described as persuasive and opinionated, Nokwazi is street-smart and boundaryless, able to strike up a conversation with anyone.
“It feels so good and beautiful at the same time to be part of the biggest production,” Mnumzana shared. “The crew and cast have welcomed me so warmly. Working alongside the likes of Manaka Ranaka (Lucy Diale) is amazing.”
Mnumzana’s character will debut on Monday, 30 June 2025.
Actress Nozuko Ntshangase joins the show as Vuyelwa Nxumalo, a smart and driven young woman raised in privilege but determined to make her mark in the media world.
She dreams of hosting her own investigative journalism show on an international platform. Her character, both empathetic and guarded, will appear on screen from 9 July 2025.
“I am so excited to join the mother of all soapies,” said Ntshangase. “Breathing life into Vuyelwa is amazing, and I can’t wait for the people to witness the magic.”
Phillip Tipo Tindisa will portray Donald Brave, a character shaped by hardship and survival. Once a zama-zama miner, Donald is a man disconnected from family, hardened by life, and described as both dangerous and deeply compassionate. His debut episode airs 11 July 2025.
“I’m honoured to join the cast and crew of Generations – The Legacy, and I am happy to be part of the family,” said Tindisa.
Well-known actress Sannah Mchunu rounds off the new cast additions as Sis’Phindi MaNxumalo, a modest but sharp woman who is emotionally complex, carrying guilt, bitterness, and a deep sense of responsibility beneath a quiet exterior. Her character will appear from 23 July 2025.
“When I got the call that I got the role, I felt like break dancing,” Mchunu said. “I have always wanted to be part of Generations: The Legacy. I thank the Almighty for this opportunity.”
The show also welcomes back Buntu Petse, reprising her role as Nontle Majola.
