Tyla, fresh off her Grammy Award win, has earned a nomination in the Best International Act category.
Eswatini-born DJ Uncle Waffles, who has consistently credited South Africa’s supportive industry and fans for her meteoric rise since her viral breakthrough, also joins Tyla in the Best International Act category.
In the Best New International Act category, two more South African artists are being recognized for their burgeoning international impact. Hit-making producer Dlala Thukzin, known for his infectious gqom-infused tracks and the popular new “three-step” sound, has garnered widespread acclaim for his musical versatility and humble persona.
Joining him is Maglera Doe Boy, a unique voice in South African hip-hop.
