In a heartfelt caption accompanying images of the baptism ceremony, Gogo Skhotheni shared the profound spiritual journey that led her to this pivotal moment.
Reflecting on her past, she wrote:
“I once walked a path deeply rooted in ancestral calling as a sangoma, seeking truth and healing the only way I knew.”
She also revealed that a deeper calling resonated within her.
“But in the quiet cries of my soul, Jesus found me. He called me out of the shadows and into His marvellous light.
“I have laid down the bones, the beads, and the burdens—and in return, I have received grace, peace, and eternal life,” she declared.
The act of baptism signifies a complete break with her past and an embrace of a new faith.
“Through baptism, I have died to my old self and risen with Christ. This is not just a new chapter—it is a whole new life. I am no longer who I was.”
Her decision to be baptised has undoubtedly sparked conversations and reflections among her followers and the wider public regarding faith, spirituality, and personal journeys of transformation.
