Royal AM FC is currently being offered for sale.
This development follows intervention by the South African Revenue Service (SARS), who have appointed a curator to manage the club’s affairs.
A public notice has been issued, inviting bids for the acquisition of the club, to announce the new owner on 17 March.

The sale stems from SARS’s efforts to recover approximately R40 million in outstanding taxes owed by the club’s owner, Shauwn “Mam’Mkhize” Mkhize. This financial pressure has been compounded by other significant liabilities.
Royal AM FC is also facing a FIFA transfer ban due to an unpaid debt of R15 million, plus accrued interest, owed to former player Samir Nurkovic in outstanding salaries.
According to reports, Royal AM FC failed to pay its players and staff during November and December 2024.
Mkhize publicly attributed these payment difficulties to SARS’s intervention, stating that the club’s operations had been taken over, leading to the cancellation of scheduled fixtures.
