South African global superstar Tyla has signed an endorsement deal with famous sports brand Nike.
The Grammy award-winning singer joined the Nike family this week, agreeing to an exclusive endorsement contract with the well-known sports company. Tyla’s current endorsement agreement with Nike represents a major turning point in her developing career and an indication of her expanding impact in the fashion and music industries.
By crossing the gap between sports, music, and lifestyle, her collaboration with a multinational sportswear behemoth not only increases her visibility but also cements her place as a cultural icon.
She recently had an interview with Nike where she shared her fondest memories with the brand.
“Growing up and seeing my brother get the hand-me-downs from my dad. They were always Nike, and I wanted them so badly. He was the only boy in the family, so he kind of got whatever he wanted. I’d just have to borrow them whenever I could,” said Tyla.
She also spoke about her personal style and how she usually goes with how she feels.
“My aesthetic depends on how I want to feel. Sometimes I want to feel pretty, sometimes cozy, sometimes boyish. It depends on my mood. I don’t want to look the same all the time. When I look back years from now, I want to see many different versions of myself. One hundred different Tylas,” said Tyla.
