In recent years, former Jam Alley presenter Seipati Seoke, better known as Twasa, has made it her mission to prioritise education.
As the new year begins, Seoke took the opportunity to inspire her followers to invest in personal development, particularly through education.
“Get training and WIN! Personal growth is EVERYTHING,” she wrote in a motivational social media post. “It’s a good idea to start thinking about which type of training you need to invest in for your personal growth this year. Personally, I am an education fan, so this year I am also going in for a couple of short courses. I will keep you posted.”
Seoke emphasised that traditional schooling is no longer the only way to gain knowledge. “Use platforms like YouTube, LinkedIn courses, and Google—they offer so many paid and free training resources. You can learn almost anything to set yourself up to earn an income.”
While highlighting the value of formal qualifications, she advised her followers to choose fields in demand. “Better yet, pick something that equips you to create opportunities and businesses for yourself and others. Find what drives you—that passion that will fuel your commitment throughout the process. Then take the plunge and GO,” she urged.
Acknowledging the high cost of education, Seoke encouraged people to explore alternatives such as bursaries, scholarships, internships, free courses, and workshops.
Concluding her post, she motivated her followers to strive for self-improvement. “It will take courage, but you’ll be glad you did it,” she said. “This year, find a mentor or a coach to help you in areas you need to improve or struggle with. Seek counselling to heal mental and emotional wounds or to navigate life’s pressures.”
Seoke also shared her personal experience, saying that furthering her studies was one of the best decisions of her life.
“The impact on my family, friends, followers, and their families has been profound. I live to make a difference,” she said.
