Miss South Africa 1997 and Miss World 1998 finalist, Kerishnie Naiker, is celebrating a big milestone by walking again after months in a wheelchair.
Naiker is a South African pharmacist, beauty pageant titleholder and activist. She was crowned Miss South Africa in 1997 and went on to place in the top 5 at Miss World 1998 and the top 10 at Miss Universe 1998.
In July 2024, she shared that she was accidently tripped by a tourist who was taking pictures of the lighthouse in Cape Point, causing her to fall down two steps.
The 45-year-old beauty has released another video of herself at a beach, saying she is grateful that is is now able to walk again.
“Eight months since surgery and while I may not have full range of motion yet, I’m deeply grateful for God’s mercy and grace. I felt privileged to be able to stand. Walking again albeit baby steps, is a gift,” wrote Naicker.
