South African singer Winnie Khumalo has passed away at the age of 51.
The family of the Afropop singer confirmed the news of her death on Tuesday afternoon.
Family representative, Tshepi Rakeepile, told the SABC that the ‘Live My Life’ hitmaker died after a short illness.
“We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our dearly beloved sister and friend. She passed away after a short illness,” she said.
According to Tshepi, Winnie’s daughter Rethabile arranged to take her mother to the hospital but unfortunately Winnie was declared dead upon arrival.
