Legendary South African Kwaito star Thebe Lenyora recently took to social media to express his heartfelt gratitude for his wife on her birthday.
Thebe affectionately shared, “Happy Birthday, my homie, lover, friend, my voice of reason, my joy, my yonkinto, my life. May your day be as beautiful as you are. I love you, Ngwana Bosso!”
In 2023, Thebe and his wife celebrated 22 years of marital bliss. Reflecting on their 27 years together, he expressed his deep commitment, saying that if he could choose a partner all over again, he would undoubtedly choose her once more.
Back in 2018, Thebe visited the Kaya 959 studios, where he shared memorable stories from his early days. He spoke of living in Hillbrow at Park Mansions on Van der Merwe Street, just 150 meters from the Hillbrow Police Station, during the early years of democracy and the rise of Kwaito music. The vibrant neighbourhood, dubbed “Chicago” due to its creative energy and lifestyle, was also home to the likes of Lebo Mathosa and Arthur Zwane.
Thebe, who was the second artist signed to the iconic record label Kalawa Jazzmee after Boom Shaka, has since transitioned into family life and business. Reflecting on his journey, Thebe said, “I’ve never been a celebrity, and that has helped me stay grounded.” Now a father and businessman, he continues to share his love for music as a sound engineering graduate and club DJ.
