Kaya 959 personality Tsikwe Molobye recently embarked on a challenging 4-day cycling journey from Centurion to the Madikwe Game Reserve. This arduous ride was undertaken to support the #BIKES4ERP initiative, which aims to promote education, empowerment, and mobility by providing bicycles to learners in various communities.
From October 23rd to 26th, Tsikwe and his team cycled an average of 100 kilometers per day through the scorching North West heat. Despite the challenging conditions, the team remained dedicated to their mission. “Witnessing the joy on the children’s faces as they received their bicycles and helmets made every pedal worthwhile,” Tsikwe shared.
The journey was not only physically demanding but also visually stunning. Tsikwe recounted encountering majestic giraffes, watchful warthogs, and serene hippos along the route. Upon reaching the Barokologadi Community Hall, the team was met with excitement and gratitude from the local community.
The #BIKES4ERP initiative is a collaborative effort to bridge the mobility gap and foster a love for cycling. Tsikwe expressed his gratitude to all supporters, sponsors, and fellow riders who contributed to the success of the project. He emphasized the transformative power of cycling, stating, “This experience reinforced the power of cycling to transform lives and communities.”
ERP, the organization behind the initiative, is dedicated to preserving South Africa’s wildlife and uplifting rural communities. Their holistic approach, which includes education, agriculture, and environmental conservation, has yielded significant positive impacts. Tsikwe expressed his admiration for ERP’s work and his commitment to supporting their future endeavours.
