The 2024 National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations began on Monday, and Higher Education and Training Minister Dr Nobuhle Pamela Nkabane advised all matriculants to take advantage of the opportunity to apply for funding under the National Student Financial Aid Scheme.
NSFAS is a bursary scheme funded by the Department of Higher Education and Training for those who do not have the financial means to fund their studies and cannot access bank funding, study loans or bursaries.
With well over 880,000 students, comprising 727,121 full-time and 155,215 part-time candidates from across South Africa, sitting for this year’s matric exams,
“The application window will close on 15 December 2024, and there are now just 55 days to submit applications. Eligible students are urged to apply promptly to secure financial support for their post-school education,” Nkabane said
