Kristina Joksimovic, a former model and Miss Switzerland finalist was strangled to death, dismembered and her remains pureed in a blender, allegedly by her husband.
The gruesome discovery of the 38-year-old was made in February this year but it was only after the man accused of the heinous crime lost an appeal for his release last week that the story made international headlines.
According to reports by Sky News, The Telegraph and the BBC, the mother of two was found dead in her home near Basel in Switzerland and her husband, identified only as Thomas was arrested.
Kristina’s mangled remains were found in the laundry room of her home, and parts of her body were pureed using a hand blender.
A chemical was used to dissolve her dismembered body and although Thomas admitted to killing his wife, he claimed he was acting in self-defence.
Thomas claimed his wife attacked him with a knife.
An autopsy report concluded that Kristina Joksimovic was strangled to death and dismembered with a jigsaw and garden shears.
Kristina was a model who owned a business as a catwalk coach and was a finalist in the Miss Switzerland pageant in 2007.
