Three children, the youngest aged 4 years old, were among the 7 people who were killed execution-style in the KwaZulu-Natal Highflats on Wednesday night, 11 September.
A motive for the brutal murders of the family of 7 is unknown at this stage.
It has been reported that the victims were seated on a couch in their home and were each shot in the head.
KZN Premier, Thamsanqa Ntuli has condemned the senseless killings and called on police to leave no stone unturned in their investigation.
The children were aged 4, 5 and 8 years old.
Ntuli expressed deep concern over these brutal acts of violence and called for an end to such acts in the province.
“We remain dedicated to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens in KZN. We wish to pass our message of condolences to the people affected by this tragic incident.”
The Premier is expected to visit the Highflats on Thursday to assess the area and extend his condolences to impacted residents.
In August 2023, 6 people were shot and killed and 1 person was left in a critical condition in hospital following a mass shooting incident in Umlazi, Q Section.
This was after 4 armed men stormed into a house just before midnight, and opened fire.
Two people who were inside the house were shot, one person was shot inside a backroom, while the fourth person was shot next to an outside toilet.
The fourth victim was also found with burn wounds.
