A Pakistani businessman was rescued from a kidnapping, and three people have been arrested in connection with the crime.
This after intelligence by SAPS organised crime unit traced the suspects after a business robbery in Ennerdale on 27 August led to the death of one businessman, while the other was kidnapped for ransom.
The businessmen owned a hardware store and the kidnappers, one South African and two Mozambican nationals, reportedly demanded large amounts of money.
On Sunday, 08 September the task team arrested the suspects at various locations in Gauteng.
The Pakistani businessman who was kidnapped was rescued from an address in Lawley and has been reunited with his family.
Two suspects are in policing holding cells while one is under police guard in a hospital. The suspect sustained a gunshot wound after trying to disarm a police officer during his arrest.
The three are facing charges of murder, kidnapping and attempted murder.
