Nomzamo Mbatha has expanded her humanitarian advocacy to international waterways after being named the official new ambassador of the Earthshot Prize. The Earthshot Prize is an environmental initiative formed by Prince William in 2020. The global challenge is based on five Earthshots.
Earlier this week she received a nomination for the Best Actress Award at the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) for her role on 2023’s breakout hit, Shaka iLembe.
The Earthshots charity took to Instagram to announce the wonderful news.
“We could not be more thrilled to announce Nomzamo Mbatha as an official #EarthshotPrize Ambassador, celebrating the people and projects that are changing our world for the better.
We’re inspired by Nomzamo’s passion for protecting the environment and empowering future generations, and we’re so excited to partner with her to spotlight the innovators across Africa and the globe who are creating impact for our planet and our communities.
Together, we’re championing solutions that will change the world – join us on this journey and we’ll see you soon for #EarthshotCapeTown!”
