With pressure mounting for him to withdraw from the presidential race, Joe Biden was forced to cancel a speech following his COVID-19 infection.
The timing of Biden’s Covid diagnosis on Wednesday afternoon could not have been more disastrous.
In addition to shortening his two-day campaign tour in Nevada, it also poses a threat to intensify Democratic concerns about and opposition to his reelection campaign, which has been in serious danger for almost three weeks following his dismal showing in their first debate against former President Donald Trump.
Biden took to X (formerly known as Twitter and wrote “I will be isolating as I recover, and during this time I will continue to work to get the job done for the American people.”
