Professor Alistair Mokoena, a business leader and jazz music collector, has written a book called Savings of Self-Mastery that is filled with little reminders of the greatness we all possess. This book also provides the tools needed to unlock our potential and abundance in every aspect of our lives.
Mokoena, who is a director in South Africa, recently spoke with Brenda Sisane on The Jazz Standard. He mentioned that he made a conscious decision years ago to always remain teachable.
With his book, he wants to contribute to the body of language and drive representation.
“Music and culture. Jazz is a big feature of his life. The apartheid government made it difficult for us to access content and material that would enlighten us. Jazz was a big part of expression in the struggle days and when people were thinking about.”
He believes that building up knowledge systems about ourselves to build our self-confidence is of vital importance as it allows us to shine the spotlight on our beauty and our brilliance.
Mokoena says that the book is for everyone.
“My kids have read it. They are nine and twelve and have given me feedback on it. I wanted my kids to experience the development of a product that comes from life experiences.”
The Jazz Standard, Sundays from 12 to 3PM on Kaya 959.
