Another tremor rocked Johannesburg in the early hours of Monday morning, 01 July.
This after the Council for Geoscience confirmed a magnitude 2.3 tremor or earthquake was recorded on Saturday night, 29 June which was felt in Midrand, Roodepoort, Weltevreden Park, Auckland Park, Kensington, Turffontein and Soweto.
On Monday, Gauteng Weather reported a magnirude 2.6 magnitude tremor was recorded once again in Johannesburg south.
The Council of Geoscience notes that the second tremor was recorded at around 02h27 on Monday morning.
No reports of any damages to properties or infrastructure or casualties or injuries have been reported.
The epicentre of the second tremor was recorded close to Nasrec, Johannesburg south.
It is unclear if the tremor was due to illegal mining activities at this stage.
