It took investigators 2-years to arrest a nurse for allegedly murdering her domestic worker for R6 million in life insurance.
The 48-year old nurse who cannot be identified until she makes her first appearance in the Lenasia Magistrates Court on Friday, 14 June, reportedly took out three life insurance policies on her domestic worker.
Accused of slitting the throat of 21-year old Busiswa Nxumalo before dumping her body at a dump site in Lenasia South, the nurse faces charges of murder and insurance fraud.
In an exclusive report by News24, the nurse reportedly hired Nxumalo who hails from Nomgoma in KwaZulu-Natal to work for her.
Taking out 3 life insurance policies on Nxumalo just 7-month after hiring her, the nurse then allegedly killed her domestic worker in January 2022 at her previous home in Lenasia South.
Police arrested the nurse who works in Alberton, at her home in Vosloorus on Wednesday, 12 June.
The nurse was the sole beneficiary of the insurance policies she took out on Nxumalo, and was set to receive a R6 million payout if Nxumalo died from unnatural causes.
All 3 insurance policies with Stangen Life, Outsurance and King Price have since been frozen.
