A video of a South African man teaching a Chinese learner TshiVenda has gone viral.
In the video which has been viewed over 59 000 times, Christopher Matambela is seen teaching the young girl how to pronounce TshiVenda words. The video was taken during break time.

Over the years South Africa has had multiple exchange programs, with jobs being given to those wishing to teach English across China.
Speaking to Kaya 959, Matambela shared the story of his journey with how he ended up being an English teacher in China.
In 2019, after getting his Teaching Degree from the University of Venda, he struggled to find employment, applying to over 34 schools in Gauteng alone, he had been unemployed for 9 months.
“I always wanted to travel and I had always been fascinated by China. That’s why I applied to be a teacher this side.”

The cute video has come as a welcome surprise to many on social media, who have encouraged more cross-learning of languages.
