Mamelodi Sundowns goalkeeper and Bafana captain Ronwen Williams has extended his stay at Chloorkop.
The club excitedly announced that Williams has signed a contract extension until 2028 with an option for an additional year.
Willians joined Sundowns in 2022 and has been consistent between the posts, helping his team to a DStv Premiership, the African Football League, and qualification for the FIFA Club World Cup.
Speaking on his extension, Williams expressed his delight at continuing with the Yellow Nation:
“I’m over the moon, it just shows the belief that the club has in me, it shows the value that I’ve brought to the club. There is so much that we can achieve as a team, and I’m looking forward to it with lots of excitement.”
“It was an easy decision for me, I’ve been happy since day one. The club has helped me grow as a football player and as a person, so it was a no brainer for me to extend.”
Sundowns clinched their 7th consecutive PSL title with a 5-1 thumping of rivals Kaizer Chiefs at Soccer City.
