After recent pictures of Kourtney Kardashian-Barker’s ex, Scott Disick caused public outcry over his drastic weight loss, the Drive 959 team weighed in on whether people are falling for the bandwagon of weight loss shortcuts.
The quick fix that Disick and many other celebrities, including the Kardashians are using to lose and/or maintain their weight loss is a Type 2 diabetes medication, Ozempic.
Ozempic is injected once a week into the stomach, thigh or arm and helps the pancreas release the right amount of insulin to balance blood sugar levels in diabetics.
The drug “tricks” people to feel less hungry, feel full quicker and stay full longer, even if they have not eaten.
While the Ozempic buzz is picking up with more celebrities jumping on the latest bandwagon of weight loss shortcuts, one of the side effects of the drug is “old face”, which is what shocked people who saw Disick.
Scott Disick who was struggling to lose weight after a back injury looked, frail and gaunt after a drastic weight loss on the drug.
He may have lost the weight he was conscious of on The Kardashians reality show, but Disick has reportedly received a wake up call after seeing pictures of himself in US media, admitting he may need to stop taking the drug.

Years of fad diets and weight loss quick fixes
For years the age-old question of diet vs lifestyle has been cause for innumerable debate amongst health nuts and fitness experts. Diets were said to set you up for failure while a lifestyle change was considered more achievable in the long run.
So why then are so many still falling for these absurd fad diets and the “healthy bandwagon brigade?”
Most diets tend to leave you grumpy, craving foods that have no nutritional value and leave you feeling less fulfilled than when you started. You may lose weight initially but in denying yourself the pleasures you feel you deserve, you fall into this endless cycle of self-hate and binge-eating and the process repeats.
No carbs. High protein. Banting. High Fat. Juice fasts. Meal replacements. Supplements. Metabolism boosters. Name it and you’ll try it because a quick fix is what you are after. The truth is that quick fixes are designed never to work because the point is to lure you into the next fad trap.
