Mörda wins NAACP Award for his contribution to ‘The Colour Purple’ soundtrack.
South African DJ, record producer, singer, and dancer Bongani Mohosana known professionally as Mörda, is celebrating his first National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Award.
The Color Purple is an American film, a 2023 American musical period drama based on the novel.
This is the novel’s second cinematic adaptation, the first being the Steven Spielberg-directed and Quincy Jones-produced picture from 1985. Along with its Broadway producers Scott Sanders and Oprah Winfrey—the latter of whom also featured in the 1985 film—Spielberg and Jones are back as producers for the 2023 picture.
The soundtrack took home the esteemed Outstanding Soundtrack/Album Compilation trophy, which honors Black brilliance.
