A listener shared that her father left her and her mom over three years ago after cashing out his pension for a younger woman. Recently, her uncles visited and asked if they could take her father back because his health is declining.
She reached out to The Best T in the City with Tbose to ask if it’s disrespectful for her to not want her mom to take her father back.
“Uncle T, two months after my father got his pension pay-out, left and went to live with his girlfriend. This really affected my mother. When I saw how much mom was suffering as an only child, I packed my things and moved back home to be with her. It has now been three years since my dad left, and last week my uncles came over to tell us that my dad isn’t well and that he wants to come back home.
“I told my mother that she would not do such a thing. My father left knowing My mother was a housewife and fully relied on him for everything. I had to step in and take over certain things. Not once did my uncles check on us, and now they expect my mom to stop her life again and take care of
my father.“I feel this is just not right, and they should take care of their brother. Yes, he is my dad, and I love him, but I saw my mother suffer, and I can’t allow her to go back to that place again. Am I wrong? What could be my blind spot.”
