Bafana Bafana just made history by winning 2-1 against Cape Verde on Saturday evening, securing their spot in the semi-finals for the first time in 24 years!
The boys showed grit and determination as they fought tooth and nail against Cape Verde in Cote d’Ivoire.
The match was so evenly matched that it had to be decided by penalties, and our goalkeeper and captain, Ronwen Williams, proved to be an absolute hero by saving not one, not two, but four penalties!
Bafana now gear up to face rivals Nigeria in the semi-finals at the Stade de la Paix in Bouaké. The match promises to be a showdown of epic proportions.
Meanwhile, in the other semi-final match, Cote d’Ivoire will be taking on the Democratic Republic of Congo in Abidjan. It’s going to be a clash of titans, and we’ll be keeping a close eye on that match as well.
