“Arrive early, Communicate, Be patient” – Donald gives young artists advice on how to navigate the music industry.
Donald, afro-soul singer, songwriter, recording artist, and entertainer from South Africa, has expressed concern about the future of up-and-coming musicians in the Mzansi music scene.
He took to X (formerly know as Twitter) to shares his years of experience and insights, pointing out the difficulties that come with the increasing influx of young talent.
Throughout his musical career, he has worked with several well-known South African musicians, including rapper Slikour, Kelly Khumalo, KB, Malaika, and Selaelo Selota. He received a nomination for the Channel O Music Video Awards’ Best New Artist in 2012. Being the most nominated artist at the 2013 Metro FM Music Awards made him stand out among other artists.
He has dropped several well-loved albums over the years including, Know You Better in 2010, Train of Love in 2012, Black and White in 2014, and Something More in 2017.

He voiced concerns regarding the inexperience of up-and-coming musicians. He issued a warning, saying that continuing down this path might cause their careers to drastically decline.
“In my industry the biggest downfall of some of our young artists is the low level of professionalism, I’m afraid you’re not gonna go too far in this if you don’t take that part seriously.
