South Africans can breathe a sigh of relief following an update of one of our own.
Globally recognized DJ Black Coffee, whose real name is Nkosinathi Maphumulo, is reportedly recovering from surgery following a “serious travel accident” on his private plane that left him with “severe blows” to his body, according to Daily Mail.
Black Coffee took to X (formerly known as Twitter) at around 2:03 AM on Monday to share three emojis, one of a home, a mending heart, and a praying hands emoji suggesting he has been discharged.

South Africans and the world over have wished Black Coffee a speedy recovery.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday while the DJ was traveling from Brazil to Argentina, and he was admitted to a hospital in Uruguay. According to Billboard, he was going to Argentina to perform at a show at the nightclub Mute.
The incident was first publicized on Wednesday night, January 10, on Black Coffee’s official social media accounts. There, it was stated that the Grammy winner, 47, suffered “some injuries” as a result of “unforeseen circumstances.”
Daily Mail. reports that severe air turbulence forced the plane to make an emergency landing at Montevideo Airport.
