The SABC has confirmed the passing of Phalaphala FM presenter Rofhiwa “Rampsie” Rampfumedzi.
Rofhiwa passed on Sunday, 07 January after a short illness, and news of the Limpopo-based presenter’s death came as a devastating shock to the station’s listeners.
“It is with heavy hearts that we confirm the passing of Rofhiwa Rampfumedzi, who passed away on Sunday, 07 January after a short illness.
Rofhiwa joined Phalaphala FM as a music compiler and then presented Zwa Mitambo, a sports show that broadcasts Mondays to Fridays from 19h00 to 20h00 until his untimely passing.
We are all hurt by Rofhiwa’s passing and wish to send our heartfelt condolences to the family and all the Phalaphala FM listeners.”
The passionate sports presenter’s presence on-air and in the industry will be sorely missed, and the radio station thanks the community for their messages of support during this difficult time.
Details for Rofhiwa “Rampsie” Rampfumedzi’s funeral and memorial have not been released.
