The rape and murder case of Molemo Maarohanye, popularly known as “Jub Jub” has been rescheduled to February 2024.
Maarohanye turned himself in to the police in Brixton earlier this year, and he was set free on R10,000 bail. This followed the issuance of an arrest warrant for him.
A decade after the incident occurred, actress and TV personality Amanda Du-Pont filed a case of rape and attempted murder against Maarohanye.
Du-Pont claimed that throughout their two-year relationship, Jub Jub sexually assaulted her multiple times. In addition, she said he tried to kill her.
Masechaba Khumalo, a former Metro FM presenter, also disclosed that Maarohanye allegedly raped her when she was sixteen years old, claiming the rapper broke her virginity, shortly after the claims became widely publicized in the media.
Since then, Maarohanye has refuted the accusations and said he is being set up to commit crimes.
Terrance Baloyi, his attorney, stated that they are waiting for the details requested to move forward with the case.
“The main point of contention is that we had requested further particulars which were furnished this morning, as a result we do not know whether we have been provided with everything we requested. We need to consult.
Justice delayed is justice denied, we’re being delayed but hopefully they have provided us with everything we need to proceed with the matter.”
