Dating shows are all the rage in South Africa, and it seems like Mzansi Magic is capitalising on this trend with their latest announcement. Last Chance Love is a brand new dating show set to give viewers an intimate look into the lives of four young singles who are desperate to overcome their relationship barriers and find lasting love.
But this show isn’t just about finding a partner; it’s about understanding why dating, or as we call it in South Africa, Umjolo, has been such a challenge for them. The team behind the hit series Nkululeko, The Narrators Africa, is producing Last Chance Love, ensuring that viewers are in for a treat.
Sibu, Zoya, Thato, and Bontle are the stars of the show, and they will be guided by relationship expert Makabelo Motaung as they embark on a journey of self-discovery. Each participant will go on four pivotal dates: one with their crush, one with an ex, one set up by a loved one, and one blind date with a stranger. These experiences will push them out of their comfort zones and force them to confront their toxic dating patterns.
In addition to these exciting dates, the participants will also take part in personal exercises designed to help them become better versions of themselves. The hope is that by breaking free from their relationship barriers and developing a stronger sense of self, they will finally be able to find the love they’ve been searching for.
Last Chance Love, is set to premiere in January 2024.
