SAPS Police officers accused of drinking confiscated alcohol from a nightclub.
A theft case against police officers accused of drinking alcohol that had been seized from a nightclub in the Sedibeng District of Gauteng has been filed, according to Black Forum South Africa (BFSA).
SABC News reports that Kgagudi Morota, the CEO of the organization, paid a visit to the nightclub owner’s family in response to their allegations that they were mistreated by the police during a raid earlier this month.
Family members say they were treated inhumanely by the police, who they claim carried out the raid without a warrant.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) has reportedly been now been tasked with conducting additional research on the case.
