Eskom recently issued an invitation to tender for the design of a new company logo and develop a corporate identity or brand design for the power utility for a period of 5 years on an as-needed basis.
The rebrand comes as the power utility’s plan to restructure into three separate entities, responsible for distribution, generation, and transmission, is finally gaining momentum.
The team discussed whether this would be money well spent. Listeners also shared their thoughts on whether this tender should go ahead or not.
Eskom to hand over load shedding operations to City Power from 6 November
Eskom and City Power have announced that, as of November 6, Eskom will hand over load-shedding operations to City Power.
According to a joint statement from both power companies, this action is in line with a mutual agreement. As per the agreement, City Power will now take on the responsibility of load-shedding operations for the majority of its supply areas, which were previously subjected to load-shedding by Eskom.
Over 260 substations in the Johannesburg region are under the jurisdiction of City Power.
